Does Toyota Rav4 Hybrid have a spare tire?

In our previous article, we have focused on Toyota Highlanders spare tire. And in today’s post, we are focusing all of our energies on the Toyota Rav4 in the context of queries related to spare tires. So let’s start:

My Quick Opinion:

Does Toyota Rav4 hybrid have a spare tire? Yes, all Toyota Rav4 Hybrid models from 2019 to 2024 come equipped with a spare tire. This is a space-saver spare, which means it is a smaller tire than the regular tires on your car. It is designed to get you to a tire shop so you can get a full-size replacement.

To illustrate this further we have a table for you, given below:

How to remove the Toyota Rav4 spare tire cover

The method for removing your Toyota RAV4’s spare tire cover depends on the model year. Here’s a breakdown for different generations:

2005-2015 Models:

  1. Open the rear hatch.
  2. Locate the three wing nuts on the inner side of the spare tire cover. They’re usually around the perimeter near the hinges.
  3. Use the included lug wrench or a socket wrench to loosen and remove the wing nuts. Turn them counterclockwise.
  4. Carefully pull the cover straight off the tire. It might be slightly tight if debris has gotten in, so wiggle it gently if needed.

2016-2018 Models:

  1. Open the rear hatch.
  2. Look for a small, circular access panel on the back side of the spare tire cover. It’s usually near the bottom, on the center or driver’s side.
  3. Turn the access panel counter-clockwise to unlock it. You might need to press it in slightly while turning.
  4. Once unlocked, pull the panel open. This will reveal a cable with a loop handle.
  5. Pull the loop handle to release the tension on the cable. This will unlock the cover.
  6. Carefully pull the cover straight off the tire.

2019-Present Models:

  1. Open the rear hatch.
  2. Locate the zipper on the back side of the spare tire cover. It’s usually near the bottom edge.
  3. Unzip the cover fully.
  4. Once unzipped, gently peel the cover back from the tire.
